一、上帝是獨一的 ,又真又活的 ,祂是無限、 完全,是至純之靈、無形體、無四肢、 無私慾 [有譯本﹕無慾]、不變、無量、永恆、不可測度 [注﹕也可譯作不可知]、全能、全智 、至聖、自決(定)、絕對的;祂按照自己不改變和至公義的旨意行作萬事,為了榮耀祂自己 ;祂極其慈愛、 有恩典、 憐憫、 恆久忍耐、 滿有良善和真理;赦免罪孽、 過犯、 與罪惡;祂賞賜那殷勤尋求祂的;照樣,祂的審判極其公義、正直;祂憎惡諸惡,決不以有罪的為無罪。
There is only one (a) living and true God (b), who is infinite in being and perfection (c). He is a most pure spirit (d), invisible (e), with neither body, parts (f), nor passions (g). He is unchangeable (h), boundless (i: immense), eternal (k), and incomprehensible (l). He is almighty (m), most wise (n), most holy (o), most free (p), and most absolute (q). He works all things according to the counsel of his own unchangeable and most righteous will(r), for his own glory (s). He is most loving (t), gracious, merciful, longsuffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin (u), and he is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him (w). He is also most just and terrifying in his judgments (x), hating all sin (y), and will by no means acquit the guilty (z).
二、一切生命、榮耀、善良、祝福 都在上帝自己裏面,也屬於祂;祂既然不需要祂所造的任何被造之物,也不從他們得到任何榮耀,反倒只在他們裡面,藉著他們,向他們,並在他們身上,彰顯祂自己的榮耀;所以惟獨在上帝自己裏面(in Himself),且歸給自己 (unto Himself) 時,才有完全的充足;祂是萬有的獨一根源,萬有都是屬於祂,藉祂而立,也歸於祂;並且在萬有之上,有至高主權,可以藉他們、為他們、對他們,行祂自己所喜悅的事 。 萬有在祂面前都是赤露敞開,清楚明白;祂的知識無限,毫無錯誤,並不依靠受造之物,所以對祂來說,沒有任何事物是偶然或不確定的。 在祂的一切旨意、作為和命令中,祂都是至聖的。 天使、世人和別的受造之物,都應當按著祂的美意所要求他們的,敬拜、事奉、順服祂。
God has all life (a), glory (b), goodness (c), and blessedness (d) in and of himself. He alone is all-sufficient, in and to himself, not standing in need of any creatures which he has made (e), nor deriving any glory from them (f), but rather manifesting his own glory in, by, to, and on them. He alone is the fountain of all being, of whom, through whom, and to whom are all things (g). He has absolute sovereignty over them, to do by them, for them, or upon them whatever he pleases
三、上帝是獨一的上帝,但祂裡面有三個位格,同屬一個本質,權能相同,同樣永恆,這三個位格就是:父、 子、 聖靈(三位一體的)上帝。 父不屬於,不受生於,也不出於任何其他來源;子在永恆裏為父所生;聖靈在永恆裏由父和子而出。
In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (o). The Father is of none, neither begotten nor proceeding; the e Son is eternally begotten of the Father (p) ; the Holy Spirit eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son (q) .
